Cave Creek Road • March 16, 2024 • 9 a.m.Kick off Cave Creek’s most celebrated event with the Rodeo Days Parade. Featured are horseback riders, draft hitches, floats, special vehicles, rodeo rock stars, clubs, bands, clowns. and so much more. Aside from kicking off the rodeo, this family-friendly event celebrates American Western Heritage.
- Cave Creek Rodeo Days Mutton Bustin
Cave Creek Memorial Arena • March 16, 2024 • 2 p.m.Here’s another event to usher in Cave Creek Rodeo Days. The wildly popular Mutton Bustin attraction allows children aged four to seven to jumpstart their rodeo dreams. Astride the back of a sheep with their hands wrapped tightly around the animal’s neck, helmeted tykes will try to hang on for as long as they can as the sheep runs around the rodeo arena. The finals of the rodeo performance will be held on March 24, 2023, the last day of the actual Cave Creek Rodeo Days festivities.

Watch Arizona’s only fully functioning ten-stamp ore crushing mill slam down and pound ore from the gold mine into fine gravel. Guests get to see the mine shaft, tramway, and ore carts besides the hard rock ore extraction procedure.

Cave Creek Rodeo Days is the city’s biggest event, attracting around 17,000 guests to celebrate the town’s Western Heritage. Introduced 45 years ago, Cave Creek Rodeo Days activities include a parade (see above), and events such as the Mutton Bustin’ rodeo for kids,, rodeo dances, a cornhole tournament in which participants attempt to toss sacks of beans on a raised platform with a hole, a professional bull-riding show, and so much more. Profits support charitable organizations throughout the Sonoran Desert and assist in the maintenance and enhancement of the Cave Creek Memorial Arena, which is a public facility.
