About Paradise Valley

Incorporated in 1961, the history of Paradise Valley can be tracked back to the late 1800s when the area was primarily used for agriculture and ranching.  It wasn’t until the 1930s that the land began to be developed for residential purposes.  In the 1940s and 1950s, wealthy individuals began building homes in the area, attracted by its natural beauty, tranquil setting and close proximity to Phoenix.  The town’s name is said to have originated from a comment made by one of the early residents who reportedly said that the area was a “paradise valley”.  Over the years, Paradise Valley has become known for its luxurious homes, world-class golf courses, upscale resorts and beautiful natural scenery.  It is now considered one of the most affluent communities in Arizona and is a popular destination for celebrities and high-profile individuals owning homes in the area.
